Overview
The Netgear Nighthawk M6 is a mobile 5G hotspot and router with Wi-Fi 6 support across 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands. It runs on a removable battery with USB-C power, and connects to 5G and 4G LTE networks.
Who it suits
This suits people who need a portable router for mobile data use, such as travel or temporary setups, rather than a fixed home network hub. It may also suit anyone who wants a battery-powered device they can take off-grid.
Reasons to consider it
It supports Wi-Fi 6 on dual bands, which covers common device connections. The removable battery and USB-C power let it run independent of mains power. It includes a single Ethernet port rated at 1 Gbps for a wired connection when needed.
Limitations and compatibility checks
There is no 6 GHz band support, so it does not offer Wi-Fi 6E or Wi-Fi 7 tri-band features. It has only one Ethernet port and no listed PoE, USB data port, or wired backhaul support, which limits wired networking options.
