Overview
The ASUS ROG Rapture GT-AXE16000 is a quad-band Wi-Fi 6E gaming router that includes a 6 GHz band alongside 2.4 GHz and two 5 GHz bands. It has 7 ethernet ports with speeds up to 10 Gbps and supports wired backhaul, with 2 USB ports for added functionality.
Who it suits
This router is suited to users who want a high-bandwidth, multi-port setup for gaming or heavy network traffic, especially those seeking Wi-Fi 6E and 6 GHz band support. It fits households or offices with ASUS AiMesh devices looking to expand network capability through mesh features.
Reasons to consider it
The device supports quad-band Wi-Fi 6E, offering extra 6 GHz specifically for lower congestion. Its 7 ethernet ports, including options up to 10 Gbps, suit demanding users who need multiple wired connections. It can function in multiple modes, including as a router, access point, or AiMesh node, adding flexibility for different network setups.
Limitations and compatibility checks
The router does not support PoE, so powered devices will require separate adapters. It is also locked into the ASUS AiMesh ecosystem, meaning it won't integrate with mesh systems from other brands.
