Overview
The Netgear Nighthawk RS300 is a tri-band Wi-Fi 7 router covering 2.4, 5 and 6 GHz. It has 5 Ethernet ports with speeds up to 2.5 Gbps and includes a USB port.
Who it suits
Suited to a single household looking to run one Wi-Fi 7 router with wired devices needing faster-than-gigabit connections. It fits setups where a single router placement is enough, rather than homes needing multiple mesh nodes.
Reasons to consider it
It supports 6 GHz for less congested Wi-Fi traffic, has 5 Ethernet ports for wired connections, and offers 2.5 Gbps max Ethernet speed for devices that support it. The USB port adds extra connectivity options.
Limitations and compatibility checks
There is no wired backhaul listed, so it is not set up for a wired mesh configuration. PoE is not supported, and ecosystem or supported mode details are not specified, so compatibility with other Netgear or third-party mesh systems cannot be confirmed.
