Overview
The Netgear Nighthawk A7500 is a Wi-Fi 6 USB adapter designed to add wireless connectivity to a laptop or desktop. It supports dual-band operation on 2.4 and 5 GHz and connects via USB 3.0.
Who it suits
This is suited to anyone looking to upgrade an older laptop or desktop to Wi-Fi 6 without replacing the whole machine. It fits setups where a USB connection is practical rather than an internal card.
Reasons to consider it
It supports the Wi-Fi 6 standard across 2.4 and 5 GHz bands, giving an upgrade path for devices stuck on older Wi-Fi generations. The USB 3.0 connection allows straightforward setup on supported desktop or laptop systems.
Limitations and compatibility checks
There is no 6 GHz band support, so it does not reach the newer Wi-Fi 6E or Wi-Fi 7 spectrum. It has no Ethernet ports, so it offers no wired connectivity, and it is not designed for PoE or mesh backhaul use.
