Overview
The GL.iNet GL-MT3000 Beryl AX is a pocket-sized travel router running Wi-Fi 6 on dual-band (2.4 + 5 GHz). It has 2 Ethernet ports with a max speed of 2.5 Gbps, a USB port, and is powered via USB-C 5V/3A.
Who it suits
This router is suited to travelers who want a compact device for VPN use on the go. It fits users who need wired connections via its 2 Ethernet ports rather than relying solely on Wi-Fi backhaul.
Reasons to consider it
It supports Wi-Fi 6 on dual-band, which can help with device compatibility and performance on supported networks. The 2.5 Gbps Ethernet port allows for fast wired connections, and USB-C power input makes it convenient to run from portable power sources.
Limitations and compatibility checks
It does not support 6 GHz, so it is limited to 2.4 and 5 GHz bands. There is no wired backhaul support, and ecosystem or supported modes are not specified, so mesh or extended network compatibility is unclear.
