Overview
The TP-Link EAP772-Outdoor is a Wi-Fi 7 access point built for outdoor use, with tri-band support including 6 GHz and an IP68 weatherproof rating. It runs as part of the TP-Link Omada ecosystem and is powered via 802.3at PoE.
Who it suits
Suited to users needing outdoor Wi-Fi coverage for areas like yards, car parks, or building exteriors, particularly those already using or planning a TP-Link Omada network. It fits setups where a single weatherproof access point can be pole or wall mounted near a PoE source.
Reasons to consider it
It supports tri-band Wi-Fi 7 with 6 GHz, which can offer additional spectrum for capable client devices. The IP68 rating and flexible pole or wall mounting suit genuinely outdoor placement, and the 2.5 Gbps Ethernet port allows for higher wired throughput than standard gigabit.
Limitations and compatibility checks
There is only one Ethernet port, so it cannot provide wired backhaul to other devices while also connecting upstream without additional networking gear. It requires 802.3at PoE to operate, and it ties into the TP-Link Omada ecosystem rather than general mesh systems.
