Overview
The Ubiquiti UniFi U7 Outdoor is a Wi-Fi 7 access point built for outdoor use, with an all-weather housing and dual-band (2.4 + 5 GHz) radios. It does not include 6 GHz support, and it uses a single Ethernet port powered via 802.3af PoE.
Who it suits
This is suited to existing UniFi network owners who need to extend coverage to an outdoor or weatherproof area. It fits setups where a single PoE Ethernet run to the access point is sufficient, rather than needing multiple wired devices daisy-chained from it.
Reasons to consider it
It runs Wi-Fi 7 on dual-band radios and is designed with an all-weather housing for outdoor deployment. Power comes via 802.3af PoE through its single Ethernet port, simplifying installation where PoE infrastructure already exists.
Limitations and compatibility checks
There is no 6 GHz band support, so it cannot use that spectrum even though it's Wi-Fi 7. It has only one Ethernet port and no wired backhaul or USB support, and as part of the Ubiquiti UniFi ecosystem it is intended to work within that system rather than other mesh brands.
