Overview
The Netgear WAX610Y is a Wi-Fi 6 outdoor access point built for weatherproof deployment, with dual-band 2.4 + 5 GHz support and an IP55 rating. It uses a single 2.5 Gbps Ethernet port with 802.3at PoE for power and data, and is managed through the NETGEAR Insight ecosystem.
Who it suits
This access point is suited to outdoor or semi-exposed areas needing a single weatherproof Wi-Fi 6 radio point, such as a yard, courtyard, or building exterior. It fits users already using or willing to adopt NETGEAR Insight for management, and who have PoE infrastructure available for power.
Reasons to consider it
It offers Wi-Fi 6 on dual bands, an IP55 weatherproof rating, and pole or wall mounting options for flexible outdoor placement. The single 2.5 Gbps Ethernet port supports high-throughput wired uplink, and 802.3at PoE means it can be powered over the same cable as data.
Limitations and compatibility checks
There is no 6 GHz band support, so it is limited to 2.4 and 5 GHz spectrum. It has only one Ethernet port and no wired backhaul support, which limits it to a single uplink connection, and management is tied to the NETGEAR Insight ecosystem.

- Yes, it is rated IP55 for weatherproofing and supports pole or wall mounting.
