TP-Link Archer TX20U Plus Wi-Fi adapter: UK Prices and Specs

Overview

The TP-Link Archer TX20U Plus is a Wi-Fi 6 USB adapter designed to bring dual-band wireless to a laptop or desktop. It connects via USB 3.0 and uses two external antennas for its wireless connection.

Who it suits

This adapter is suited to users who want to add Wi-Fi 6 capability to an existing desktop or laptop that lacks modern wireless hardware. It fits setups where an internal card upgrade isn't practical and a USB solution is preferred.

Reasons to consider it

It supports Wi-Fi 6 on both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands, giving access to newer wireless standards without opening up a PC case. The USB 3.0 connection is intended to support the adapter's throughput, and the two external antennas are provided to assist signal reception.

Limitations and compatibility checks

There is no 6 GHz band support, so this is a dual-band Wi-Fi 6 device rather than Wi-Fi 6E. It has no Ethernet ports and is not designed for wired backhaul or mesh networking, as it is a single-device USB adapter rather than a router or node.
