Overview
The eero Max 7 is a tri-band Wi-Fi 7 mesh unit from Amazon's eero ecosystem, supporting 2.4, 5, and 6 GHz bands. Each unit includes 4 Ethernet ports, with a mix of 10 Gbps and 2.5 Gbps speeds, and supports wired backhaul.
Who it suits
This suits buyers who already use or plan to commit to the eero ecosystem and want multi-gigabit wired connections to their router or switch. It is suited to households wanting 6 GHz band support and the option of wired backhaul between mesh units rather than relying solely on wireless.
Reasons to consider it
It offers Wi-Fi 7 with tri-band coverage including 6 GHz, which newer client devices can use. The 4 Ethernet ports per unit, including 10 Gbps speeds according to the intended_use field, support wired connections to fast internet lines or NAS devices. Wired backhaul support allows a more stable connection between mesh nodes if you choose not to rely on wireless backhaul.
Limitations and compatibility checks
There is no PoE or USB port on this device. As with all eero hardware, it is locked into the eero ecosystem and will not interoperate with mesh systems from other brands.
