Overview

The GL.iNet GL-AXT1800 Slate AX is a Wi-Fi 6 travel router with dual-band support, three Ethernet ports, and a USB port. It is built for VPN use and microSD-based features, with USB-C 5V/4A power input.

Who it suits

This router suits people who travel and need a compact router with VPN support and wired Ethernet options. It is also suited to users who want a portable Wi-Fi 6 device without needing 6 GHz band support.

Reasons to consider it

It offers three Ethernet ports and a USB port, giving more wired flexibility than many travel routers. Wi-Fi 6 support on the 2.4 and 5 GHz bands provides modern wireless standards in a portable form, and the stated intended use covers VPN and microSD functionality.

Limitations and compatibility checks

There is no 6 GHz band support, so it does not offer Wi-Fi 6E capabilities. Wired backhaul is not supported, and ecosystem or supported mode details are not specified by the manufacturer.
