Overview
The ASUS ROG Rapture GT-BE98 Pro is a Wi-Fi 7 quad-band router using 2.4 GHz, 5 GHz, and two separate 6 GHz bands. It includes 6 Ethernet ports with speeds up to 10 Gbps and supports wired backhaul for mesh setups.
Who it suits
This router is suited to households wanting a high-end, multi-band Wi-Fi 7 setup with fast wired connections for devices like NAS units, gaming PCs, or media servers. It also suits users planning to expand coverage using ASUS AiMesh with wired backhaul.
Reasons to consider it
It offers quad-band support including dual 6 GHz bands, which can help separate traffic across more channels. The 6 Ethernet ports, with up to 10 Gbps speed, support multiple wired high-speed devices at once. Wired backhaul compatibility allows a more stable mesh connection when expanding with other AiMesh units.
Limitations and compatibility checks
There is no PoE support, so connected PoE devices would need a separate injector or switch. Ecosystem expansion is limited to ASUS AiMesh, meaning it cannot mesh with routers from other brands.
